We removed the framed break in the opening, seen to the far left, and installed a sliding door with a polished chrome head rail.  The opening for the door is roughly the same size, but we also pulled the curb further out into the bathroom, widening the shower.  The clients wanted to go with an obscured glass instead of clear, so this is Rainy View.

Below you see the transformation of the bench.

The niche in the back corner was initially about 16” deep.  The clients said that it was just too deep and they would lose things back there, so we framed it out to shorten it up to 8” deep.

We retained the curved shape of the bench, but used long pieces of the larger tile instead of many small pieces, which is how it had originally been tiled.

The large shower comfortably fits two shower heads, one on each opposite wall.  We simply removed and replaced the fixtures that had already been there.
