We did not install a custom island for these clients, but a new coat of paint completely changed the look of the original cabinet.  We also cut the granite in a way that gives them more countertop space and offers a place for them to pull up bar stools and sit.

We installed new cabinetry, new lights, new countertops, and new plumbing in this kitchen.  The new end cabinet really completed the look.  There is now lighting above and below the cabinets and extra lighting in the ceiling.

Here are the before and after shots of the sink.  The new undermount, stainless sink shows off the edge of the granite.  We also put granite on the window sill above the sink.  The clients got a pull-out sprayer on their faucet so we did not re-install a separate sprayer like they had previously had.

The picture on the left shows the insets in the dining room, which we painted the same deep blue as the island.
