In these pictures, a continuation of the pictures of the kitchen before,  you can get a little more detailed look at the beautiful new granite used.  Also note the different brackets.  The plain, original wooden brackets were replaced with decorative iron ones.

We added the decorative trim on the back of island to make it look custom-made.  You can see that there is a new cooktop and the receptacle in the back was switched out.

We installed a uniquely-cut slab of granite on the island.  There is a wide curve in the back and a slight curve on the sides.  These not only provide added countertop space but also soften the boxy nature of the kitchen.
